Our Story

innovate coalition logo

Our mission is to introduce, connect, support, and expand the entrepreneurial ecosystem within the U.S. Mid-Atlantic Region to bolster the creation of jobs, companies and wealth.

InnovateCoalition™ produces world class entrepreneurship (ESHIP) programming and event experiences that inspire, educate and connect. Starting in 2014 with Techstars Startup Weekend, InnovateCoalition™ has experimented with ways to connect and grow community through thought-provoking social experiences.

Between Global Entrepreneurship Week, TechnoRamp™, Techstars Startup Weekend, Hackers/Founders, 1 Million Cups and DC Startup Week, our events reach more than 5,000 people each year. Through our events, we unite and work to foster meaningful connections that go beyond the surface level and help grow and accelerate the next wave of Technology + Innovation, Makers + Creatives, & Social Impact businesses.

History

InnovateCoalition™, a not-for-profit organization powering various entrepreneurship programs and initiatives, was founded in 2018.

Since 2014, we’ve wanted to create InnovateCoalition™. After growing our events and working with community members, we decided there was no better time to start than now. With our soon to come 501(c)3 certification, we plan to accelerate our operations and build more ESHIP support services.

Our mantra is to foster meaningful connection. Radical inclusion is integral to that mission, and it’s woven into our DNA. We believe it is the path to genuine, meaningful relationships and wealth generation. That’s why every single event we create incorporates the principles of #GiveFirst, #ZeroBarriers and #NewMajority.

Steven A. Rodriguez joined the entrepreneurial ecosystem in 2014 and has been focused on building the Greater Washington, D.C. Region’s community ever since. With a strong coalition of driven and passionate stakeholders, partners and volunteers, InnovateCoalition™ has grown to where it is today through #LaborofLove.

Our events are fueled by our generous sponsors and attendees. If you’re a sponsor interested in what InnovateCoalition™ is doing, email us at info [at] innovatecoalition [dot] org.

If you’re an individual interested in volunteering or other opportunities, shoot us an email at ops [at] innovatecoalition [dot] org.
